For decades, we’ve debated the greatest athletes of all time—names like Jordan, Ali, and Bryant—sparking endless passion and comparison.
But when it comes to the greatest healer of all time, there is arguably no debate. Without a shadow of a doubt, the answer is Jesus Christ of Nazareth. From restoring sight to the blind to healing the woman with the issue of blood, Jesus’ healing ministry involved not only the physical, but also the mental and specially spiritual. His miracles were so vast that, as John 21:25 suggests, the world itself could not contain the books required to record them all.
In a world of advanced medicine and “quick-fix” trends, our deepest spiritual wounds often remain untouched. What if the ultimate restoration is not found in a pharmacy, but in a 2,000-year-old promise?
To explore this further, here are seven of my favorite miracles from the Bible.

1. The Woman with the Issue of Blood (Mark 5:25–34)
For twelve long years, she lived in pain and rejection. She had tried everything, but no one could heal her. In her desperation, she believed that if she could just touch the edge of Jesus’ garment, she would be made whole. In that moment of profound faith, she was completely restored.
Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you” (Matthew 17:20, NIV). Like a mountain being moved, "Veronica’s" unwavering faith pushed her toward healing; she was so determined that Jesus felt the power leave Him the moment she touched His cloak.

Jesus said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.” This reminds us that God recognizes those who have faith in Him as His own sons and daughters.
2. The Man at the Pool of Bethesda (John 5:1–15)
After 38 years of waiting, everything changed in a single moment when Jesus Christ came to the Pool of Bethesda and healed a paralyzed man—on the Sabbath. The Pool of Bethesda was believed to have healing powers, as an angel would occasionally stir its waters, and the first person to enter afterward would be healed.

Yet this man did not need the pool to be made whole. He only needed the greatest Healer of all time—Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Just imagine the struggle he endured for 38 years, and in an instant, he was healed, changing the course of his life forever.
3. Jesus Heals a Man Born Blind (John 9:1–12)
This is where Jesus Christ made the powerful declaration that He is the “Light of the World” (John 9:5, NIV). He not only healed the man’s physical blindness, but also brought light into his darkened world.

In that moment, Jesus restored more than sight—He gave clarity, hope, and a new way to see life. Not just for the healed man, but to all who believe in Him. "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." (John 1:5, NIV).
4. The Paralytic Lowered Through the Roof (Mark 2:1–12)
Before the paralytic man was forgiven and healed by Jesus Christ, “Some men came, bringing to Him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them” (Mark 2:3, NIV). While there is no indication of whether these men were close to him or his friends, I will make the assumption that they were close to him, because they would not make that much effort to get him to the roof by passing through the crowd.

Jesus said, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends” (John 15:13, NIV). The greatest friend that we have is Jesus, for laying down His life for our sins. Through Him, we may find brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus who will do the same for us, and we for them.
5. The Leper Cleansed (Matthew 8:1–4)
“Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” (Matthew 8:2, NIV)
These are the words of a humble leper before he was healed by the greatest Healer in the universe. He could have said, “Jesus, heal me now!” or “You are Jesus, right? Can’t you see I need healing? I am a leper.” But instead, he approached with humility and reverence—acknowledging that he was speaking to the one and only God, and simply asking if He was willing to heal him.

“God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” (James 4:6, NIV)
Jesus saw his heart even before he asked. He recognized his humility, and that is why, when the leper spoke those words, Jesus responded, “I am willing.”
6. The Centurion’s Servant Healed (Matthew 8:5–13)
“Lord, I do not deserve to have You come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed.”
If you are Catholic, you may recognize this prayer before receiving Holy Communion. It comes from a pagan Roman centurion who showed such humility and faith that he believed—even from a distance—that just one word from the Master Healer of the universe was enough to heal his servant.
The Roman centurion could have said, “Hey Jesus, heal my servant!” or, “I have authority here—go to my servant and heal him. I am the one in charge!” But despite his power and influence, he chose humility over pride. “Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.” (Proverbs 16:18, NIV)

Jesus was amazed by this man’s faith and said that He had not found anyone in Israel with such great faith. Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go! Let it be done just as you believed it would.” And his servant was healed at that very moment. Just like the cleansed leper, his humility was not based on his condition, but on his recognition of who Jesus is.
7. Jairus’ Daughter Raised to Life (Mark 5:21–43)
He pleaded earnestly with Him, “My little daughter is dying. Please come and put Your hands on her so that she will be healed and live.”
Jairus, one of the highest synagogue leaders at that time, knew that only Jesus Christ of Nazareth could heal and even bring his daughter back to life. Just like the centurion who sought healing for his servant, Jairus also held high authority and influence—but instead of pride, he chose humility. He could have said, “Jesus, You’re the healer, right? I am a synagogue leader—I command You to heal my daughter!” But he didn’t.

“When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.” (Proverbs 11:2, NIV)
Jairus understood that pride would get him nowhere—only disgrace. That is why he pleaded, “Please, come and put Your hands on her.” In other words, he was saying, “Lord, You are my only hope.” When Jesus arrived at his house, He said, “Little girl, I say to you, get up!” and she was healed and brought back to life.
Personal Reflection
I claim that Jesus is the greatest Healer of all time—not just because of what the Bible says, but because of my personal encounter with His healing.
In 2020 and 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic, I was ready to take my life. I fell deep into depression and struggled with overwhelming anxiety about the future. It was during that darkest season that I experienced the unconditional love, joy, and peace that are not of this world, but come from my personal Healer and Savior, Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
He gave my life purpose and meaning. Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, I created UnboundFull, which means living fully free and complete in God, without fear or limits. It is my commitment to serve the one true and living God, Jesus Christ of Nazareth, and to help others grow closer to Him.

Final Conclusion
In times of sickness, we should always consult doctors and medical specialists. They are instruments used by the Lord Jesus Christ. We should also follow their advice regarding medicine, treatment, and guidance on nutrition and lifestyle. We must face the reality that not all who ask for healing will be healed if it is not the will of God. As the scripture says:
"Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.'" — 2 Corinthians 12:8–9 (NIV)
These verses suggest that while God is capable of healing, a lack of physical healing is not necessarily a sign of a lack of faith or God's displeasure; sometimes, His "sufficient grace" is the intended answer. The ultimate promise of God is eternal life through His Son, Jesus Christ.
Someone once asked the great evangelist Billy Graham: “My husband had successful open-heart surgery a few months ago. We had lots of people praying for him, but later I discovered his doctor is an atheist and doesn’t even believe in God. Who healed my husband—God, or the doctors?”

It is always the will of God that prevails. No matter how skilled and gifted a doctor may be, in the end, it is God’s will that is done. Even Jesus Himself prayed to the Father, “Not My will, but Your will be done.”
