In today’s world, where so many events seem random or disconnected, it's crucial to step back and ask a bigger question: Are these events part of God’s plan? The Golden Globes and the Mockery of Faith
This year, during the Golden Globe Awards, comedian Nikki Glaser made several remarks that many Christians found deeply offensive. She joked about “saving herself for Jesus” and made light of the fact that God was hardly mentioned in the “godless” town of Hollywood. While humor often pushes boundaries, the timing and tone of these jokes raised an important question: Could mocking God have spiritual consequences?
Just 48 hours after those comments, Los Angeles experienced catastrophic wildfires that led to loss of life, destruction of homes, and displaced thousands. Is this merely a coincidence, or is there a deeper spiritual connection between the two events?
The Bible makes it clear that God cannot be mocked. Galatians 6:7 says, "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows." This verse serves as a reminder that our actions have consequences. Earlier this year, Brazil experienced devastating flooding and landslides just days after a parade mocked Jesus with a grotesque depiction of Him, juxtaposed against Satan’s triumph. Was this mere coincidence, or did these disasters serve as a warning?
We can also look to history for examples. The Titanic, famously called the "unsinkable ship," was thought to be indestructible, with one crew member even proclaiming, “Not even God Himself could sink this ship.” Yet, on its maiden voyage, the Titanic struck an iceberg and sank, resulting in one of the greatest maritime disasters in history. This tragedy serves as a powerful reminder that no one can challenge God’s authority.
Biblical Perspective on Divine Justice
The Bible teaches us that God’s justice cannot be ignored. Proverbs 19:21 states, “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” We may plan and act in ways that seem harmless or even humorous, but the reality is that God's purpose will ultimately triumph.
As we near the end of the age, the Bible also warns us that mockery and rebellion against God will increase. 2 Peter 3:3-4 tells us that, “In the last days, scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires.” But God’s Word assures us that He is patient, not wanting anyone to perish, but for all to come to repentance.

The Book of Revelation and the Second Coming of Christ
The Bible provides us with clear warnings about the end times, particularly in the Book of Revelation. It describes a period of great tribulation, during which mankind will face increasing calamities, deception, and a rise in rebellion against God. Revelation 16:9 states, "They were seared by the intense heat and they cursed the name of God, who had control over these plagues, but they refused to repent and glorify Him." This verse shows that even amid judgment, many will continue to reject God rather than turn to Him in repentance.
Jesus Himself spoke of the signs of His return, warning in Matthew 24:7-8, "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains." These warnings align with the increasing natural disasters, conflicts, and moral decay we see today. Are these warnings from God to prepare for Christ’s return?
The Book of Revelation assures us that Jesus will return to establish His kingdom, bringing judgment to the unrepentant and salvation to those who remain faithful. Revelation 22:12 reminds us of Christ’s promise: "Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done." This verse calls believers to live righteously, anticipating the glorious return of our Savior.

The world may dismiss certain events as coincidences, but as Christians, we recognize that God's justice operates in ways beyond human comprehension.
